DARLINGTON COUNTY DISABILITIES

AND SPECIAL NEEDS BOARD 

Board of Directors 

     The Darlington County Disabilities and Special Needs Board is composed of nine directors recommended by the Darlington County Delegation and appointed by the governor.  The Board is charged with providing leadership and charting the direction for the agency.  The board of directors is also charged with planning, administering, coordinating and providing services to people with Mental Retardation and related disabilities, Autism and head and spinal cord injuries.  Board members represent various geographical areas as well as well as the demographic make-up of Darlington County.  Board members hire the executive director to carry out the operations of the Board.  The Board Members meet monthly on the last Tuesday of every month except December.  The public is invited to attend the meetings.
